Two friends with a passion for exploring and taking the less beaten track, Bahram and John started Trailblaze to showcase the wonder of northern Pakistan to the world.
After a 24-year career in international banking and finance, Bahram has embarked on a new chapter with the founding of Trailblaze that aligns more closely with his personal values and passions. Born in the UK, Bahram returned to Pakistan at the age of one and was raised there before moving to the UK in 1995 to pursue further education and a career in banking and finance.
From a young age, Bahram developed a keen interest in hiking, spending three months each summer exploring the Himalayas. Over the years, he has traveled and trekked across the globe. Bahram now divides his time between the UK and Pakistan and is deeply passionate about promoting tourism in Pakistan. He is committed to a socially responsible approach to business, which will be a cornerstone of this new venture, initially focusing on the beautiful Gilgit-Baltistan region
Currently pursuing his studies at the University of Oxford, John splits his time in the library finishing his degree and getting out into nature. Having grown up in Peshawar, he has always been profoundly connected to the vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes of Pakistan.
A lifelong hiker, John finds both adventure and tranquility in exploring, with the majestic peaks and serene plains of the Karakoram offering a sense of peace unmatched anywhere else. Inspired by the allure of northern Pakistan, he co-founded Trailblaze acting as special advisor to share his love for the region with others.
John's vision is to craft unforgettable journeys that allow travelers to experience the beauty, culture, and serenity of the mountains, leaving them with memories to treasure for a lifetime

At Trailblaze, we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment, local communities, and the overall travel experience. Our CSR initiatives are designed to promote sustainable and responsible tourism in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Key initiatives include:
For every tour we conduct, we plant 10 trees in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. This initiative aims to contribute to reforestation efforts, enhance the natural beauty of the area, and combat climate change. By planting trees, we are not only offsetting our carbon footprint but also supporting the local ecosystem.
We believe in empowering the local community by supporting local mountaineering schools. A portion of our profits is dedicated to providing scholarships, equipment, and training for aspiring mountaineers. This initiative helps foster local talent, promotes safe climbing practices, and boosts the local economy.
Our commitment to sustainability extends to the food we provide on our tours. We prioritize sourcing food from local farmers and suppliers, ensuring fresh and high-quality meals for our guests. This practice not only supports local agriculture but also reduces the environmental impact associated with long-distance transportation of goods.
We strive to minimize our environmental footprint by reducing the use of single-use plastics. We encourage our guests to bring reusable water bottles, and we provide eco-friendly alternatives to plastic items, such as biodegradable utensils and packaging. By limiting plastic use, we aim to preserve the pristine beauty of the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
We actively engage with the local communities to raise awareness about sustainable tourism practices. Through workshops and educational programs, we aim to educate both our guests and local residents about the importance of environmental conservation and responsible tourism.
